We've gone from 10-15 calls per day (albeit blocked by my nifty box) tonone today.

We're approaching 3 weeks into pre-protection so I guess this was to be expected.

Just wanted to post this update to give hope to anyone else in phonecall he'll!

Cheers,

Hi DFW

Friday week is the deadline that my creditors have to object to my TD and I too have found that that phone calls from my creditors have reduced dramatically.

I have just received a 2 automated phone calls from the same creditor (landline and mobile) advising me that as I had not made the required repayments that they had no option but to start legal proceedings against me. Standard practice for all creditors no doubt and hopefully there should be no problems.

Continue to keep us updated DFW.

Will do Gresgow.

You're exactly one week ahead of me. Maybe we should have a party if it all goes to plan.

Cheers,

No calls for 5 days now. The calls stopped after my trustee had written to all my creditors with details of my TD.

What I'm realising is there's a structured system in place and you just need to go with the flow as you progress from one stage to the next.

Less than 2 weeks until protection!

Cheers,

My five week period was up at the start of the Christmas break but I had to wait until the new year for confirmation that the trust deed would go ahead as the trust deed company was closed. A little bit of extra sweating, but it feels much better now and for the first time in 25 years of work I actually have a little money left at the end of the month. IÔÇÖm more solvent than when I was solvent if you see what I mean.
For the benefit of others considering a trust deed I would like to add that I had very few calls from creditors. I was very worried about this but all of my creditors were aware of trust deeds and seemed to have a process in place. After confirming my details I simply said it had been necessary to enter a trust deed and gave the company's details. This was accepted and one or two creditors simply stopped calling, whilst others wanted confirmation after the five week period was up. The calls were short and business like. I may have been lucky in that I was able to keep all my payments up to date until the date of signing although there was a certain amount of robbing Peter to pay Paul. I may be tempting fate here but I had no calls at all from MBNA who seem to have a bit of a reputation for repeated calling. IÔÇÖve still had some alarming looking letters telling me IÔÇÖm in default but apparently this is quite normal and one creditor whom I telephoned was surprised that I had phoned and said that it wasnÔÇÖt necessary as IÔÇÖm off their list and the letter was completely normal. Best of luck to those still waiting. ItÔÇÖll go in quicker than you think.

Congratulations Snowball. I'm really glad to hear that everything went as hoped for you and that the financial pressures upon you have now reduced.

Thank you very much for sharing some of your personal experience of the trust deed process. I'm sure that it's extremely valuable for other readers who are currently considering their options and who will have natural and understandable concerns.
