Well All it has been a very long haul for me.. 5 years almost in total.. between making up payments and a decrease in income but.. finally checked the AIB website and see this...
Debtor Discharge Date
07/08/2015
My thanks go to Kevin Mapstone on this site for his help initially and to TDA and all those who have answered my questions over the years.
Hoping i get my official discharge form quickly from Apex.
Just thrilled its finally behind me and my discharge date is showing on AIB.. HIP HIP HURRAH !!!!!
I intend on hanging about to keep in touch tho..
Ohhh and I was able today to get financing on a used car with MOTONOVO from a used car dealer .. my 11 year car is on its last legs.. thankful it has lasted throughout the trust deed. .. [:D]
Congratulations Amerififer. You must be delighted? Well done on reaching the end of this particular road.
Just so you know... the information on the Register of Insolvencies is your official discharge. Any paperwork from your trustee simply confirms that.
Congratulations on obtaining car finance as well - I'm sure many readers will be pleased to hear (again) that going into a trust deed isn't necessarily a life sentence in terms of future credit availability.
It would be excellent if you could visit the forum from time to time - we hear from people frequently that they really appreciate the support they get from other members that have been through the experience that they're about to embark upon.
Well done Amerififer
Discharge and a car? That's certainly a good start. As TDA says, both will certainly be positive news for other forum readers.

Well done to Apex.. Received my form 5 in the mail today ๐ ... So i'm well chuffed. Thanks all..
I shall definitely pop in from time to time.
Congrats Amerififer, all the best.
well done, Amerififer, great news. Curious to know when you were discharged as I received my form 5 in April but on the AIB register it does not yet show me discharged.
Hi Amerififer - is it really almost 5 years gone by? Doesn't seem that long since we met - though time is relative I guess and I imagine it has felt a lot longer to you!
Really pleased to hear that you have got to the end - and glad that I played a small part initially in helping you to reach this point. Well done - and enjoy having that bit extra cash each month to play with now.
I hope you do continue to drop in - I know a lot of people will be coming on to the forum who are in similar position to that which you found yourself. They will undoubtedly be comforted to hear how it is possible to get to the other side despite the curveballs that life can throw in along the way!
Hi Amerififer,
It sounds like the last 5 years have had their ups and down and It's at time been a bit of a struggle so well done for sticking with it, successfully completing your Trust Deed and receiving your discharge.
It's nice to see you also taking the time to thank Kevin and TDA for all their help! As an advisor it's always nice to have some positive feedback from a client on their experience in dealing with you.
Best wishes for the future and enjoy the new car!
rodney รรรด best to get onto your Trustee and AIB to see why there is no date of discharge showing on the register of insolvencies. If you have your Form 5 then a discharge date should be on there.
