Hi

Just a note to say that my final payment has now been made on my Trust Deed. Can't believe I'm now the one writing this after reading similar posts three years ago and thinking that I was so far away from being that person.

The process has ran smoothly for me. Every payment made on time. Annuals reviews passed painlessly. Great communication with RSM / Apex throughout despite the change in company mid way through.

For anyone out there thinking about taking action against un-manageable debts, my advice would be simple. Do take action. Doing nothing or delaying will not help the situation. Taking action will help. Speak to someone, look at all your options and take the best action for you. If you are anything like me, you will be lifted by the process, learn from it and come through it a better person both financially and emotionally.

This forum has been invaluable. At the start i was looking through all the posts every day. It gave great comfort to know there are others out there going through the same stuff as me. Once I got my Trust Deed protected and all my questions answered I then drifted away from the forum. I got on with my life and the Trust Deed vanished from my daily mindset. Now that I have been approaching the end of the trust Deed I have found myself back on the forum, once again getting invaluable insight into the closure process, what to expect, how to clean up my credit file etc.

Many many thanks to everyone involved in the forum.

xxx

Good for you Thinkingofthefuture. I'm really glad to hear that all has gone well and that you've now achieved the outcome you wanted.

You're right about the "taking action" suggestion. Debt advisers speak to people very regularly who, upon learning that there is a way to sort everything out, regret having put themselves through the mill for so long without any advice or support.

Thanks for your kind words about this forum - they're much appreciated and I'm very glad that you've found it to be useful.

Congratulations on successfully completing your Trust Deed thinkingofthefuture!

Thank you for coming back to the forum to share your experience. This will give others the confidence to hopefully take the first steps to becoming debt free.

On occasions I speak with people who in my professional opinion have an unmanageable amount of debt but are too scared to do anything. They think they can try and manage it themselves and pay it off. A post like yours might just help those people take action rather than waiting months/years before doing so.

All the best for the future and enjoy being debt free. Oh and remember to chase up that Form 5 discharge certificate!
