My husband and I signed up to a ptd in September 2010. We decided to pay the ?ú500 equity fee but apart from ?ú50 which I paid back at the beginning we havent been able to find the rest of the money for this. Our car has been in and out for repairs and car now needs new tyres. Is it possible to have longer to pay this off? Is there a certain time you need to have this paid off by?

Hi susie.

I think this just comes down to what is acceptable to your trust deed company and is an area in which they have plenty of discretion.

Hopefully Kevin, Mark or Julie can confirm this...

thanks TDA - I know a lot of people opt not to pay this but I feel better having that bit of protection. I am hoping I can pay over a longer term.
