I entered into a trust deed with Knightsbridge on 14/03/2013, i got my letter last year advising it had come to an end and i awaited my discharge papers. Earlier this year as i still hadnt got them i contacted Knightsbridge who advised there was a problem with one of my creditors and it would not be too much longer until this was sorted. However, i recieved a letter from them today advising that the administration of my case has now reached the fifth anniversary and enclosed a copy of the circulation to creditors whichthey sent on 23/04/18 and the Form 4 shows that they anticipate that my trust deed will be complete by 15/09/18. Iโm totally confused by this. Can anyone shed any light on this for me..... Please
I would suggest that anything posted here would merely be guess work and the only way to get an answer would be to phone Knightsbridge again and demand a full explanation.
Hi WhiteJ and welcome.
I'd suggest going online and searching for the Register of Insolvencies. You can search this register for your own details and be able to ascertain (for sure) whether or not you have been formally discharged.
Sometimes there's a confusion that arises from paperwork about whether you have been discharged (which happens first) or your trustee has been discharged (which happens later - sometimes quite a long time later).
Once you've completed your obligations you can usually be discharged while your trustee carries on with their remaining work.
As Voice of Reason says, any specific detail will need to come from your trustee.
The Form 4 is an annual report to creditors which has to be sent if your trustee is still in office, regardless of whether you have already been discharged or not.
As trust Deed Assistant suggested, you should check the Register to make sure that there is a date of your discharge showing. if not then I think you'd be well within your rights to be asking serious questions of your Trustee as to why not.
