Hi.
I payed my final payment on the 1st November. How long is it usually until I get discharged and receive my form 5?
I spoke to an agent at the credit fix company and they said it can take up to 6 months, but that felt like an awfully long time to me. Is that correct?
I really want to start building my credit and getting my life back on track asap.

It can happen much more quickly than that, nicnac587 - basically as soon as you have completed all of your obligations. The six month period is more likely to refer to your Trustee's discharge, which is separate from your own and can only happen after all the work dealing with your creditors and distributing funds etc has been done.

Hi I made last payment in September and received my form 5 today. They said 3 to 6 months so its only taken 2 months.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I have just checked the aib register and it has been updated as me being discharged today! Yay!! ๐Ÿ˜€ just have to wait for the form 5 to come in the post.

Also want to add how helpful I have found this forum. I may not have posted much but I regularly read people's posts and they have answered a lot of questions I have had. So thank you for that!
