Hi I made my last trust deed payment a few months ago. I haven’t received anything from the trustee but I noticed on the aib register it says a date next to the debtor discharge date. Does this mean I’m now officially discharged? Thanks

Hi gpnk84.

You're absolutely correct. The register of insolvencies is the official record and a date next to "debtor discharge date" confirms that you have been officially discharged. Congratulations!

You should have been sent a "Form 5" which is your certificate of discharge. If you never received this you may want to ask for a copy as it could be useful if you ever need to prove that you were successfully discharged from the Trust Deed (the entry on the Register disappears a year after your Trustee is discharged).
