Hi all

We are closing cases on the 3rd anniversary and do not see the VAT issue as a reasonable excuse. There appears to be no timescale to this being settled.

I wonder if companies who are adopting this policy are holding back on issuing their fees to see if they should charge VAT or not on these. I suspect not!

Hi laroone.

There's probably no right or wrong answer to this. Different firms are adopting different positions.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that some firms have suspended closing cases while they take tax advice and then consider how to proceed.

Rather than pushing too hard just yet, you may wish to give them a couple of weeks in case my guess is right. It's up to you though really, and you have the option of complaining to them if you wish.

I'm sure they'll be looking to make some decisions soon laroone, they will not want a huge backlog of cases to build up.

Please let us know about any developments.
