Good Afternoon,

I successfully completed a Trust Deed in 2006. It can be done! [:)]

Given the time since it has been "off the books", it no longer appears on my credit report (most recently checked Experian but have also looked at Equifax in the past).

However, can potential employers find it, even if it no longer appears on the credit report? I'm not fussed about hiding it, but it is in the past now and I'm not looking to dwell on it.

Should I declare the Trust Deed when applying for jobs? Thanks in advance for the info.

Welcome to the forum minimalambition.

Anything that goes on your credit file goes away after six years. The trust deed will have vanished on yours six years after it began.

If a job application asks questions about personal insolvency or protected trust deeds I guess most people would say they should be answered honestly.

If a job application doesn't ask such questions I guess it would be reasonable to assume that the subject isn't of interest to the employer and therefore that no disclosure is required.

When you entered your trust deed it will have been advertised in the Edinburgh Gazette. This is a permanent record which can be searched online. Therefore a determined and informed employer probably could find a record that this happened in the past.
