I'm just looking on some advice / guidance on the following:
I entered a TD in May of this year, and I have 2 years or so to run. however I might have an opportunity to emigrate to Australia at the end of 2013, does being in a TD affect your chances of emigrating (the TD will still be paid each month regardless) and more importantly, does it affect your credit rating or do you start with a ÔÇÿclean' credit rating?
Thanks in advance.
Hi neil1981.
I'd imagine you'd start with pretty much zero credit rating in a new country. That could make it hard to get credit, but of course any credit would probably be unaffordable anyway until you have been discharged from the trust deed.
Every country will have their own policies about immigration. For some this will include an assessment of your ability to manage financially so you do not become a burden on your new country. I've no idea how Australia would look at a trust deed in this respect (if at all) so you'd want to contact the relevant Australisn immigration authorities for answers.
Hi Neil
I have 2 or 3 case who emigrated while in the Trust Deed and it does not appear to have been an issue.

Thank you for both of your replies [:)]
Mark, when you say you had or have two or three cases that TD's wasn't an issue is that in terms of immigration or obtaining credit?
Hi Neil
Only getting abroad. Unfortunately I have no idea on the credit position, although I think TDA's comments would make sense.

Hi neil1981,
We have also had a number of clients who have moved to Australia and have had no problems in doing so.
I would agree with what Mark and TDA have said regarding credit rating.
