Hello,

Looking for some help, I signed a trust deed in 2008 and still have 2 years to pay on it.
I pay ?ú150 each month, however I won't be able to pay anything near this whilst on maternity pay.
I will be earning a quarter of my monthly salary, can someone tell me if my payments can be reduced?
Thank you
[:)]

Hello charleyx25 and welcome to the Scottish Trust Deeds forum.

You might be able to reduce payments temporarily and then make it up through continuing contributions for a little longer than originally envisaged. It might be a good idea for you to contact your Trustee to discuss this.

Hopefully our experts might be able to confirm how their firm would deal with a similar situation if it arose for one of their clients...

Hi Charlene

There is usually some flexibility available in a protected trust deed to take account of changes in circumstance, such as what trust deed assistant describes - contact your trustee and hopefully they will be able to agree an alternative arrangement.
