Hi I received my status report the other day and it states that my Trust Deed has been extended for a further 3 months which confused me as the last status report stated that it was going to be extended for a further 15 months. I checked the totals that I agreed to pay into my trust deed and the letter that I got the other day is ยฃ2451.57 less than original agreed. I phoned my trust deed company as I thought this was an error on their part. They advised me that because my circumstances had changed which were no fault of my own that they will not expect me to pay the original amount agreed so I will only have 3 more payments to make. I'm not wanting to get too excited just incase. Has anyone else had any experience of this?

Hi Dredd

It looks like good news, especially if this has been confirmed by the Trustee.

Fingers crossed it works out for you.

Fingers crossed.

I will only have 2 more payments to make as I have just made a payment. Hopefully the next time I post on here is to say I have been discharged.

That would be good news DRedd.

We hear of trustees taking a different view on this subject.

Some believe that the total original amount pledged needs to be paid over prior to a trust deed being completed.

Others choose not to penalise someone that has experienced a negative change of circumstances that was outside of their control. It sounds as though you have benefited from your trustee taking this view.
