I have been discharged from my Scottish Trust Deed for 3years now. I am looking to claim some ppi from the Halifax. The Halifax was one of my creditors but the loan I had at the time never had ppi. I am wondering if I can claim ppi on the loans I had before my trust deed which were paid off.

If so how to go about it?

Thanks

Hello K7ERG1979 and welcome.

If your trustee has also been discharged, and these accounts were not claimed on previously, you could give this a go.

Some of the consumer websites like MoneySavingExpert and Which? have good guides to doing this yourself.

I would warn against using a claims firm however, K7ERG1979. There is a potential risk that any PPI funds recovered could be claimed by your former trustee. If this happens then you might find you have a fee to pay to a claims firm but no funds to pay it with so are actually worse off!

Definitely worth a go doing it yourself though.
