Hi again folks.
Well, I've been on the AIB website to check my details after receiving my form 5 last week, and there in bold print under "debtors discharge date" is 10/2/2014. What a feeling it gave me to see that !
A couple of points though. Is that confirmation that it is finally over and I can win the lottery now ? Hehe ! Fat chance, but you know what I mean !
Also, there is nothing at the moment under, "date of trustee discharge". Why is that, and should it be of concern to me and how long can that take ?
Am i right in saying that it is just a case of tidying up the loose ends at his end ? I only ask, because on the accompanying letter that came with my form 5 last week, part of it states, ".....we confirm that the administration of your protected trust deed has now been completed...." Which would imply that everything has been done and dusted at the trustees end, or am I being paranoid and will find a date in the "trustee discharge" column some time soon ?
it can take a while for your trustee to discharge themselves but you have completed your end of things so feel free to have a big lottery win!!!
Have they investigated ppi claims yet?
Paul
Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.
Good luck with the lottery A.D!
Your trustee will have administrative matters to deal with that could take a little while.
In some instances it's been taking trustees a very long time to get their discharge because of issues connected to a change in VAT status and more commonly ongoing PPI claims work.
You might want to check with your trustee to find out how long they expect it to take.
The key point however is that this need not matter to you at all. Your discharge has been registered by the AIB. You're done!
Thanks Paul, and you too Amy.
Re PPI, I was informed by my IP a couple of weeks ago that investigations were completed with none found.
How soon will I be able to see changes on my credit profile ? If not necessarily to my credit score then at least to the list of accounts which are listed on Noddle and Experian and showing as defaulted. Although I have not been on Experian for sometime, I was on Noddle a few days ago which is still showing the trust deed as "active" although I guess that will be the first thing to change as it officially ended yesterday.
My suggestion would be to give it a few weeks before you worry about this A.D.
Your creditors need to recognise what has changed, report it to the credit reference agencies and then the CRA needs to amend your file. That's going to take a little while to work through.
Some might not do this and need some encouragement from you (if this is important to you) but the longer that you leave it the less work you're likely to end up with.
