Hi Guys, Countdown is on, Made my last payment last week and it feels good! I've phoned my trustee and advised that i've made all payment so that they can start the discharge process, In terms of my credit file, I still have 2 creditors on it with the full value of the debt still showing, Is it when im discharged i can call then to take that to Zero ?? I understand it will still show on my file for another 2 years. Thanks for all your help and support.
Congratulations Welcome - its a great feeling that you have completed your payments under the plan.
Yes once you have been discharged it always advice to take a proactive approach to contact your credit reference to sort out any issues or errors.

Hi Welcome,
Fantastic news and congratulations on the final payment and successful completion of your Trust Deed.
You are ahead of the game giving your Trustee a call to let them know about the final payment.
Once you receive your Form 5 discharge certificate I’d take a copy and send it to your creditors and ask them to update your credit file. It’s them who have a responsibility to ensure that the information they report is accurate. I’d give them a couple of weeks / month to update the credit reference agencies and then check. If they haven’t chase them up again.
You should ideally have the Form 5 within 5-7 weeks from now. Hopefully sooner.
Remember to cancel that standing order and hopefully a few celebratory drinks planned.
How have you found the whole Trust Deed process, is it something you would recommend to someone struggling with debts?

I would go as far to say that at the time it saved my life, Although the 4 years were a challenge and when your skint with no means of credit it can get you down. I just kept thinking that after 15 years of robbing peter to pay paul, nasty letters, nasty calls, moving from 1 lender to another no matter what the interest was, 12 pay day lenders that the fact that i was sleeping well after setting up my trust deed was worth its wait in gold. So yes i would recommend this process to anyone with debt issues. The one piece of advise i would give is treat your income and expenditure info at the outset of the process with the highest level of importance that you can. If you complete that correctly it enhances your chances of a successful process taking 48 months.
Welcome
