I finished my Trust Deed in August 2012. Not discharged yet because the Trustee is waiting on one company communicating about PPI. Despite having no PPI with the others, he refuses to release me until all matters are finalised. Ah well.

Anyway, I have received my house insurance renewal and noticed a section which states "You have not told us about any CCJs within the previous 20 years" and "You have not told us about any Bankruptcy within the past 20 years".

I must have missed it since it just automatically renewed. This year, I decided to do a review of cover and details and noticed it.

Am I required to declare the Trust Deed? I did not have any CCJs against my name prior to the Trust Deed. I have not had any bankruptcy. The Trust Deed ran from Aug 2009 to Aug 2012 with no defaults or issues.

Thanks in advice for advice.

Hi Firewalker.

It doesn't sound like their underwriting criteria will cause you a problem based upon the information that you have provided.

A safety-first approach with insurance may be sensible though. You may wish to disclose the trust deed to them to double check that it doesn't affect the policy.

Okay - thank you for that. I did suspect you may suggest that but I really wanted to put it all behind me particularly since I have stopped paying the Trust Deed.

I will give them a ring.

Hi. Just thought you should know that I did call and discuss. Customer Services had not heard of it, and referred it to the Business Support Team. They do not have a 'classification' for that so they said they have to record it as an IVA (equivalent) on their system.

No increase in premium since Trust Deed is concluded (although not discharged).

Just thought you would like to know update.

Thanks again.
