What unsecured debts can be included in trust deed? I have £400 outstanding on a bill to a PPI company, can this be included?

Hello Stevies1980.

Provided that this debt did/does exist on the date that the trust deed is signed then it is included.

Hi Stevies1980

The (very) general rule is if the debt existed at the date the trust deed was signed, then it is included. Some exclusions including court fines etc, but PPI commission will be an unsecured debt like any other.

Thanks, should be signing on Thursday, had totally forgotten about it until receiving a letter from debt collection agency about it.

That's good timing to remember.

Make sure your trustee is aware in advance in case it changes anything. For that sum of money I very much doubt that it will.
