It is possible yes more in terms of that I would be in a position where I might need to be in charge of someone’s estate although I would hope that this wouldn’t happen for many many years however the person is a close family member who has a terminal health condition not illness

I think it’s a good idea to discuss the inheritance issue in a bit more detail with an Expert.
That way we can fully understand things, go over a thorough budget with you to see what you can realistically afford to sustain and then from this you can decide on a plan.
It could be the case that after the completion of a budget you can afford £250 per month and then if you did a DAS the timescale would run to approx. 11 years. That’s why it’s key to make sure your budget is thorough and any payment is sustainable for the duration of the plan.
Like I said before, the positive thing is that you have solutions to help you.

There are obviously a few factors for you to take into consideration here, so all the more reason that you take your time and look at this choice carefully, with the help of an expert. It isn't easy to give detailed advice tailored to your exact circumstances over a forum, so I would certainly encourage you to contact one of us experts and then ask as many questions as you need to!
Thanks how do I go about contacting one of yourselves ?im reading this on a mobile and for some reason the site doesn’t layout easily for me on this
If you want to reach out to Kevin or I for advice at the bottom of our posts there is a “contact me” button. If you click that you will be able to contact us directly and send a message and we can speak with you.
I’m positive in the space of a 15/20 minute call we can put your mind at ease.

Thanks I will try to do this it’s sometimes hard to do calls when at work .
Hi, the majority of people that we help are working and I can work around that by doing calls in the evening after you have finished work or at the weekends too if this helps. We try to be as flexible as possible for clients.

That’s great I will arrange a call as soon as I can get guaranteed quiet time to do it
No problem 1985debt. I’m sure we will be able to work around you and find a time that suits.
Have a good think about your budget, what your bills are and don’t underestimate or cut these back when you are doing it.
This will help when you speak with one of us about your income and expenditure. Also make a list of the debts you have along with up to date balances.
How are you feeling now you have opened up about things?

I still get a bit overwhelmed by it all and want to stick my head in the sand and this is something I’m trying to stop ASAP
It’s only natural to feel a bit overwhelmed. It’s all new to you and you are having to be brave and open up about it which is extremely difficult. It can also be a bit of a shock for some people when they write down a list of all their debts and see it in black and white.
The way to think about it is that after speaking with an Expert you will have a very good idea of a way forward and a plan. Once you enter into the plan and have only one more affordable payment per month to make and as time goes by I’m absolutely positive you will start to feel a whole lot better. That’s often the thing clients tell me after the first couple of weeks/months. Remember we are here to guide you through all of this.
Do you have any debt with the bank you have your current account with?

Hi yes I do and I have opened a basic account with Santander however their system seems a bit complicated in that I have two cards . I was also wondering I have now missed a couple of payments how long would it be before creditors start seeking court action while I am getting this all set up ?
I normally recommend the Nationwide Bank if someone needs to change. Feedback from my clients is that it’s nice and simple and straight forward to use. Santander are normally ok to use as well so if you want to stick there that should be fine.
How many missed payments?
Lenders don’t tend to take court action quickly so I wouldn’t worry too much about that just yet but if you have missed payments then it’s important to reach out for some advice from one of us sooner rather than later.
