I am at my wits end. Currently 15 months into my trust deed all going ok, payments made getting on with life. - sadly myself and my OH have decided to split while she remains in the mortgaged house which we are both still paying, pending me finding a rental and she will take ownership of the mortgage which i am prepared to accept.
Then then spanner. - Viewed several places, references exchange exverything seems ok , then they want to do a credit check.
So i appear I am stuck.
Any advice, or experience. Ive been up front on application form .
but i am losing the plot
Maybe try speaking to the letting agencies about the problem and see if they have any suggestions. They may be willing to accept a letter from your Trustee confirming that you are maintaining the payments to your Trust Deed and that the rent amount you are looking at is affordable according to the evidence they have - we have certainly given people letters like that before which have done the trick.
What about a housing association instead? You are unlikely to have the same issue with them.
Hi hajxel,
Sorry to hear about the relationship break up.
In all of clients that we have dealt with over the years it's very rare for a client to feedback to us that they cannot rent a property because of their credit check.
As Kevin has suggested it's something to speak to the letting agents about. They may be able to propose something that might help.
It could just come down to the individual landlord. My parents are renting out their flat and have been very specific with the letting agent on what tenant they would accept.
It might mean shopping around letting agents, being up front with them before you view any properties to see if they would accept you. A letter from the Trustee or even a guarantor if you have one could help.
Please let us know how you get on.

Hello hajxel.
As has already been mentioned, we've heard from plenty of people here who have been worried about renting a home during a trust deed, but none that I can remember who simply haven't been able you.
I'm sure you'll be fine.
Hi
If it helps, according to checkmyfile credit reports, they generally don't see your full credit file when it's used by a landlord or someone that's not a lender. But it does have a star next to generally so you might have to just try and see what happens.
I think if you are up front, and you can obviously afford the rent and show that you can (if need be), you'll be grand.
Good luck but I'm positive it will be ok.
