hi I have been paying into a protected trust deed for just over 18 months and was wondering how long does a creditor have to make a claim for money they're owed?

Hi rudedogg1888 and welcome.

I think claims can be admitted any time right up until the end of your trust deed.

ok thanks for your reply I was wondering as my current payments were worked out using an estimate which is about ยฃ7000 more than what the balance of my loan was and when I queried the amount they said the bank hadn't submitted a claim yet.

Creditors will normally be given until near the end of the trust deed period to submit a claim, unless the trustee is paying an interim dividend to creditors and requires all claims to be agreed.

If no claim is submitted, the trustee can give them a final time period otherwise their claim will be excluded.
