after being in a trust deed how long does it take for my crditors to be paid?

Hi Kerry,

There is no set timescale for this. It depends if there are any outstanding matters in your case such as PPI investigations.

Roughly I would anticipate between 6-9 months from the point you receive your discharge. It really can vary from firm to firm.

This has no impact on you or your credit file as you have been discharged.

They should do so, though in practice it seems that many of them will need a push to get them to do this before they have received their payout from the Trust Deed.

The timing of funds going to creditors is something that changed for Trust Deeds signed after November 2013. The regulations brought in a requirement that trustees have to make a payment after 24 months and then at least 6-monthly thereafter, as long as there are sufficient funds in the pot to justify it. So creditors should get some repayments before the end of the Trust Deed and I suspect this may speed up the closure process a bit too once these Trust Deeds start getting to the 4-year point.
