Hi,
I have just checked my credit score with Experian and it show that I have a score of 968 - Excellent !!!

How can this be as my TD has been extended for a further 2 years to pay equity in my home ???????

Hi ghostofricco69.

It varies between reports I think. The section might be called statutory notices or legal notices or something like that.

I think what we're seeing here is more evidence why people should not focus on the "credit scores" that the credit reference agencies provide.

We've read here time and again that there's little or no connection to the scores they're providing (during and soon after trust deeds) compared to people's actual ability to access mainstream credit.

I wouldn't take much notice of Experian's score. Mine was 999 - 'Excellent' whilst still in my trust deed whilst Noddle had me rated as 1/5.

Thanks for sharing that Beloved_Aunt.

The consumer reviews we've seen of the credit reference agencies seems to put Experian at the top regularly for the accuracy and completeness of the information on their reports.

That's exactly what you need if you're wanting to check and correct your credit file - especially after a trust deed.

It does seem like people need to avoid paying much attention to the credit score they provide though. It seems to be almost pointless and irrelevant in these circumstances.

I've been using all 3 off and on since my TD finished:

Noddle - free but only updated once a month. Seems not to be used by all lenders.

Experian - great information albeit the score seemed worthless. Also the most expensive.

Equifax - when I called to cancel they dropped the price to £5 so I have been using this and updating regularly to keep on track of lenders' updates. Costs £5 per month which was a special rate.

Have been chipping away at the accuracy of information reported on these but have hit a brick wall with TSB and MINT credit cards who I've written to twice with no reply. Advised of the 28 days notice etc. but still no joy. Any suggestions? The ICO just say to keep contacting the lenders...

You may need to make formal complaints to these lenders Beloved_Aunt.

That's often enough to get someone different, and perhaps more empowered, to take a look at the circumstances.

Raising complaints regarding the companies to FOS helped get my records all updated, quickly. Strange that!
