I've just joined Experian and my credit score is (Fair) 803.
MBNA ltd show my account as satisfied
Santander and Max recovery still show my file as default - is it worth sending them a letter to ask them to update the status or give them a wee bit time?
Over all I expected my credit rating to be worse.
Won`t be long till you are in the good range again then. Good luck ๐
Hi TDA can you point me in the right direction of letter templates which I can use to ask creditors to update my credit file, I've seen them on here before but can find them. Thanks.
Hi Sparky1,
I'd have to say that I'm surprised how good your credit rating is and I'm sure with a little effort you will be able to get it up into the early 900s and into the good rating category then maybe onto the excellent category.
Keep us up to date on how you get on with things.

Hi sparky1.
We've never added template letters to the site, I wonder if another poster shared a letter they used in the forum?
I'd give creditors a few weeks to make their own updates. This should minimise the amount of work (if any) that you need to put into this.
Hi David, Your not the only one that was surprised with the score. I don't know whether its got something to do with my mobile phone contract I have with Vodafone and the credit card with vanquis that's helping things along as payments have been made on time from the start?
I've also opened a savers account with the tsb that I can transfer affordable amounts over to let them see I'm at least trying and in 3 years time they may consider giving me a small loan! who knows got to start somewhere and try.
TDA, thanks I'll have a look this week and get letters ready to send out in case they don't update.
Sparky1 I used the templates from moneysavingexpertdotcom site.
Go into forums then bankruptcy and dealing with it 6th thread down its a sticky, you will see the template letters to send. Search a little further into the same forum and you'll see what the time line is, for them to be able to update your credit file.
Think I'm a year ahead of you and do the same re savings and paying cc phone etc on time. I mentioned recently that I was accepted for car finance from my bank.
Completed 3yr TD Sept '12 discharged Sept '12. Trustee discharged Jan '13
Building up savings.
Thanks twizzle - I will have a look; That's also really encouraging news about car finance with the bank.
