Hi there,
I have been on this site a few times and have got allot of information from it, thank you everyone.
I have just finished my trust deed and have got the discharge letter through. I am now trying to check my credit report to make sure that there are no errors or anything that needs changed.
However, as I got a basic account for going through my trust deed I am unable to use that card for online purchases etc. When I have tried entering my details into the credit report websites they are saying that they cannot process the card details.
What is the best way of getting around this so that I can check my credit report?
Welcome to the forum Hendi.
It might be that you need to send off for your statutory credit report from one of the credit reference agencies.
It's £2 and this can be paid using a postal order according to the Experian website.
The address for Experian to get your statutory report is at the bottom of the following page link (or on their website):
Thank you TDA.
Thanks very much for that info. Although I have another (possibly strange sounding) question. How would I go about sending a postal order, is there some paperwork or something I need to fill out?
I have found a website that offers you your credit report but not sure if I can give the link ... its an annual credit report. For a £5 fee (I managed to use a pre-paid mastercard) they show you your report and update it once every year. Although it doesnt tell you what company they get the info from, as it doesnt have all my credit history on it. I will have a look at that link and see how I can get around my problem.
Thanks again.
Ha ha, woops. Makes sense if you think about it actually. Sorry.
Yeah, think thats probably the one that I will go for. Although if I still cant find all my credit history on that website, which one would be the best one to try failing Experian?
Just been onto the Experian website. If you are like me and cant use your basic account card but do have a pre-paid card that you can use online, you can use this to order your statutory credit report on there website. Just keep in mind though that usually the pre-paid cards can charge you extra for using them, mine charges an additional 50p.
No problem. I was going to post the links, but Im not sure if you are allowed to post (outside) links here? If you google statutory credit report and the name of the company, im sure you will be able to find what you are looking for.
Hi Hendi.
We do prefer to keep external links out of the forum so thank you for that.
Anyone who wants to search for the £2 statutory credit reports can do so, as Hendi says, by writing "statutory credit report" into a search engine along with the name of one the credit reference agencies. They are Experian, Equifax, or CallCredit.
The annual credit report one seems to take info from multiple sources but to make sure you should do the 3 statutory ones, although noddle is call credit and you can get it online for free, even using a basic co op card.

A new dawn.
Sorry, should have said, other search engines are available, ha ha.
Yeah, thats what I thought, but it doesnt have all of my credit history so seems a bit strange that it doesnt provide it all if it uses multiple sources. I have applied for the Experian one so will see what that says. Ill have a look at the "noodle" one and see what I can find on there as well.
I have a Santander basic account, not sure if its any different from the coop one, wouldnt think so as a basic account should be just that - a basic account.
