As mentioned a few days ago ( http://www.trust-deed.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5478) we had a meeting today with a company that is developing credit repair services. They were very knowledgeable and credible; the Managing Director for example has twenty years of banking regulatory experience.

They have very kindly offered to provide a trial of their service to two or three Trust-Deed.co.uk members to demonstrate the results that they can achieve. They are looking to achieve the following (for people that have been discharged from their trust deed already) with all three of the major credit reference agencies:

1 - Ensure default notices are dated no later than the start of a trust deed.

2 - Ensure default notices are marked as being "partially satisfied" or "satisfied" by the creditors.

3 - Ensure balances included in the trust deed have been reset to zero.

4 - Using their knowledge they might also identify other common credit reporting errors that they can work to resolve.

This is work that you can do for yourself, but some people writing here clearly find it very difficult, time-consuming and frustrating.

What's the catch? You will be expected to pay the cost of obtaining the three credit reports at the start (ยฃ6 in total), we'd like for you to agree for the company to let us know how they're getting on with your case (so we can judge whether it's something we'll recommend in the future), and we may ask you to publicly share here (anonymously if you wish of course) your experience about the service once they've had the chance to do the work for you.

The firm is appropriately FCA regulated and Information Commissioner (data protection) registered.

We'd like to find:

1 - Someone who has just (maybe a month or less) been discharged and who has done nothing yet to address their credit file. At least five creditors.

2 - Someone who has been discharged for at least three months but who, as yet, has done nothing to address their credit file. At least five creditors.

3 - Someone who has been discharged a while, who has tried to deal with their credit file on their own, but who has been frustrated for whatever reason by a lack of progress. Please describe to us the problems that you've been experiencing.

Any questions? Please ask away.

Interested? Please let us know via the Contact TDA form (button in my signature below) and my colleague Andrew may be in touch with you. Please tell us which of the categories above you belong to and provide us with the means to get in touch with you. Number of creditors, approximate discharge date, and the issues you've had (if you're in the third category) would be helpful. Your forum name might be helpful also to help us link to anything you've written here about this subject before.

Your details will not be passed on to anyone until we've been in touch and you have explicitly provided us with your consent to do so. You'll be able to ask us any questions that you'd like to in advance of that.

From the previous thread (and from the general "flow" of the forum) this almost free trial might be quite popular so please understand that it's likely some people will miss out.

Hopefully we can really help out three members/visitors and, at the same time, discover whether this service might offer good value for others in the future.

Hi TDA, I'm only discharged yesterday, but I'd like to give this a go if it's not too early.

I've been discharged for 8 months and the default from my mortgage on the house I surrendered during the trust deed show default way after my trust deed started. I've also still got a default with RBS rumbling on even though they insist every month they will change it to settled. Do I fall into the category of suitable for this?

Glad that's over with....

Hi,
I received my discharge form in January and would love to be a test case in this instance if there is a vacancy left?

I think the results of this may be quite interesting as I've noticed that the subject has been discussed more and more over the last year or 2 on both the forum and at meetings.

As you say, it's something that you can do yourself, however this can be time consuming and you need to know exactly what you are looking for and how to deal with it.
