I'm not sure lorrainek, but I wonder if it's to do with ID verification before sharing very personal information.

I was concerned about this too but gave my details and have had no problems. I get a monthly report free.

I panicked when I saw deductions after giving card details, contacted them and it was cleared up quickly. No actual payment was taken, it's like an 'imprint' if you like, same as mobile companies deduct and pay back £1.00. Noddle just had it 'pending' never actually charged it.

Companies are aware that banks have to conduct money laundering checks before providing bank accounts, and consider it very likely that the bank will have done this thoroughly. That involves verification of identity and address.

Therefore, being able to verify a bank account registered to an individual at a certain address possibly forms part of the data protection and identification processes used by these other firms such as credit reference agencies.

I suspect this is what Noddle will be doing.

And I still can't get this done either as I don't have a VISA or Mastercard, only a Maestro and none of the sites accept this.

Have you spoken to any of the credit reference agencies to ask them what the way around this is WIKIKEE? I'm sure there must be one.

I found the way around this is to get a pre paid mastercard this means you pay 1.5% above the cost of what you are buying, but it was invaluable during the deed for me. fairfx was the one I used but there are many others. you can pay cash at a post office to get funds into it

Thanks for that Noddle referred me to the company that they actually use to obtain the credit report for them. They want a £ 2 payment but their website will accept maestro so I was prepared to try that however, the payment keeps failing. No idea what the problem is as I know at least that I have £ 2 there!!! I have emailed them as surprise surprise there is no phone number, and received an automated reply saying I would hear back from them within 28 days..............I might try the prepaid mastercard though thanks for that.
