I have recently been discharged from my trust deed 🙂 I am wondering how long should I wait before I contact companies to have my details amended on my credit file? Quite a few of them have the default date incorrect which is one of the main things I want changed.
I have all the letters ready to be posted, should I just post them and that way I know I have made the first step to cleaning it up.

Also I have been advised that a Form 7 will be sent out - how does that differ from Form 5 that I have heard about on this site

Form 7 is issued after both you and your trustee are discharged, it sounds as though things have progressed well.
We'd normally say to leave it a few weeks to give at least some of the creditors the chance to update your file themselves (and therefore save you some work). If you've already done the work then, for the price of a stamp, it's probably worth posting them out.

The process if Form 5 for your discharge, then Form 6 goes to creditors seeking the Trustee's discharge and after minimum 14 days Form 7 goes to AIB. This form is generally a summary of income and payments through the period of the Trust Deed. It has no effect on your discharge.

Thanks, I got my Form 5 a few months ago. I think I will send the letters out in a few weeks just to give a bit of time. I have just ordered my stat credit report so I can see if any of them have been updated as yet.
Thank you for your help, I will be so glad when my file is updated and I can move on.
