Hi golf20.

We're not really experts on credit files, but my understanding is that you'd contact the original lender (that registered the default).

If you look up the ico website (any web search will find it), theres a section on data controllers. Picking the right one is sometimes a struggle but it has all contact info.

Hi GOlf
EVersheds 0845 498 3938

Like you I'm trying to clean up my credit file as 4 companies have not updated after my Trust Deed completed June 2011. One is Eversheds

Recently I sent each 4 companies a copy of form 5 Trust Deed discharge Letter with a letter giving them 28 days to update or I would complain to FSA
Currently Barclaycard are saying it's not their responsibility to update but Eversheds but they say it's Barclaycard! FSA say I should complain to both.

I did get Eversheds phone no its 08454983938

Make sure they give you a reference number

So I now need to wait 4 weeks and check my credit file again.

Ps good credit file agency is annualcreditreport.com who for a one off fee of five quid and 4 quid a month give very useful help

Keep at them Golf 20 and contact FSA on 08000234567 for advice to quote to these companies

Hi all.

Incorrect information on a credit file is a data protection issue.

If ex-creditors are reporting incorrect information about you, and they fail to respond to your complaints, the Information Commissioner will be a better port of call than the FSA.
