I've received my Form 5 discharge letter in April. When looking at my credit report, some of the accounts included in my trust deed have default dates a year later than they should be (TD started Feb 15, defaults showing Oct 16).

Should the correct date be the date I signed the TD or the date it became protected?

Hi shadow79.

There's a section about dealing with default notices on the following page:

https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html

I don't think we've ever had a firm confirmation about whether the default date should be the point of signing a trust deed or the date of protection.

For me, logic suggests this date should be the date of signing. Protection doesn't appear to me to be a relevant factor. The trust deed began when you signed it.

Hi TDA, thanks for the quick reply. I'll check out the page you've linked to. I'll go with the date of signing when contacting my creditors.

At the start of my trust deed it was all so scary that I couldn't even imagine being at this stage. There is light at the end of the tunnel after all ๐Ÿ™‚
