Hello again
have been reading the threads on credit reports and how to clean them up. Thought I would check mine and found that the current account and personal loan had both been marked as satisfied but the three credit cards were still marked as default ,as they were all sourced from the same bank i.e halifax bank of scotland i was wondering why this was the case.I was discharged from T.D. oct 2011 that is what the form 5 says.Is there any way I can have the credit cards status changed ? KPMG are still in office but they tell me they have paid dividends on 31st july and are waiting for cheques to be cashed ,could that be the reason.
Again thanks for any help.
John.
it could be their excuse(cheques not being cashed) but it is not a good excuse as the credit files can be updated as soon as you are discharged, regardless of your trustee staying in office.

A new dawn.
Hi. new here. i was discharged in jan this year. i got my credit report yesterday. the 3 credit card companies all show default. i contacted two of them halifax says they wont change it until 6 years from starting default (sept 08) santander says to write to them with copy of discharge letter, the other TTISPC ? a firm has bought off one of my debts and there is no contact details to them. Are Halifax correct in saying this and I noticed that TTISPC had not recieved any monies during my trust dee period. should they not have received along with Halifax and Santander which both have been given money..
Welcome to the forum posttd.
Congratulations on completing your trust deed.
It doesn't actually matter to you whether this debt purchaser got a payment or not. You have been discharged from the debts, and this should be reflected in your credit record. You may need to contact the original lender on this.
The following article explains what you can expect and how to go about getting it:
Hi Posttd, I had the same problem with Santander & Tti Spc. Santander took me months to fix, call them on 0845 600 6014 & ask them to change your credit file, they will probably need paperwork for you. If you don't get any joy call the Ombudsman, that's what I had to do. Tti Spc are hard to contact, another one that took me months but the phone number is 0843 170 3170, good luck
Hi
are halifax within there rights to keep my credit cards in default and the accounts still open for 6 years ? I find this hard to believe as they agreed to the trust deed they could have objected, these cards were included in the trust deed and dividends have been paid so surely these accounts should be closed as the debt no longer exists. Or is that only in an ideal world .Does anyone have a number to contact the halifax to get this sorted.
cheers
