hi all.
currently in ptd and asked my advisor to send me out council tax breakdown i owed prior to td. they have put in monies owed way back to 1994, isnt this too far back for them to chase? my td started in 2011 i thought they would only be able to go back 6 years or so? anyone enlighten me and what i can ask my advisor to do if indeed they can only include from 2005.

Hi bankiedonnie,
Local authorities can go back 20 years - council tax doesn't prescribe in 5 years like normal debts.
Does it make any difference to you anyway? It will just mean that they get a larger share of your trust deed pot at the end of the day.
