Hi guys, haven't posted anything for a while but hoping someone can help...
We've decided to go with RSM Tenon to set up a DAS to pay off our debts. We've paid the first installment of the set up fee and haven't received a receipt, went to pay the second installment there and nobody on the payment line knew our details. I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience as it doesn't bode well!
Second problem...we have received a letter from the DAS people to say we have registered an intimation to set up a DAS which protects us from our creditors for a period of 6 weeks. Today I received a letter from the sheriff's office for a wages arrestment for unpaid council tax (even though I have rang the council to say we are intending to set up a DAS), can they legally do anything while this intimation is in place?? Also the imtimation has been set up in my married name whereas all of my debt is in my maiden name, will this make a difference?
I would ask our debt advisor but unfortunately the office is closed. Sorry for the big rant but I am now starting to panic slightly, I was hoping this would almost be over and we can get on with paying our debt but I couldn't cope with ยฃ1000 coming out of my wages ๐ Any advise would be much appreciated!
Hi Bluerobin
I'm sure it will be fine. If you speak with them on Monday, I'm sure they can sort out the arrestment issue with no problems. As it stands, the Council may be unaware of the DAS or it has crossed over, but personally the Council are really good to deal with and will almost ceratinly withdraw the arrestment.
I know its the weekend, but don't panic. A pound to a penny its sorted by Monday.

Hi Mark
Thats put my mind at ease - thank you! Come to think of it although I have spoken to the debt company about the DAS I have not spoken to the actual council office so its quite possible they don't know anything about it!
I shall try to put it out of my mind til Monday ๐
