Hi
Last month I finished my trust deed. I checked the register that you advised lookng at., and you advised me that I had completed the trust ., after I told you the details ๐
Just a few questions:
Will I recieve something in he post telling me that my trust deed is finished. I did recieve a letter from the company saying all payments had finished etc but I don't think it was my discharge letter.
Also if my trust deed is finished ., how long before it says satisfied on my credit file. As it still says active.
Thanks again

Hi sjm750.
You should have been posted a copy of your Form 5 by your trustee. If you haven't got one you may wish to ask them to post you a copy.
I'm not sure whether any note is made on your credit file specifically noting that you've been discharged.
However your creditors should be changing the balances owed to zero and marking default notices as being satisfied or partially satisfied. Sadly we do know some often need pushing to do that.
Ok thanks., I'll give them a bell on Monday and hopefully my creditors will update my file. I'll just need to keep on top of it. But yeah it says trust deed active still on my file. Hopefully that will change too! Thanks for your help., I'll get on top of it ๐
When they mark them satisfied or settled., what date should be next to it? When I started my trust deed ?
Hi SJM
My credit reference files state Discharged against the TD record.
If I remember correctly, it was updated quite quickly and I think it is the AIB who update it.
On the other hand, the individual credit default files are updated by the individual companies. You are likely to have to contact each of them and provide a copy of Form 5 and request that your record is updated to the date of your Trust Deed.
Hi sjm750,
Well done on the successful completion of your Trust Deed!
It will probably take a little bit of effort from you to have your credit file updated and accurate. Some of our forum users have been excellent at doing this and have shared a lot of useful information รรรด Firewalker being one of them. As a result of their updates and posts I've been able to learn a lot more about credit ratings and how to repair and rebuild them which I can now use to advise my clients.
I think if you are proactive and want to try and rebuild your credit rating then it's worthwhile spending the time contacting the creditors. If however you are not that bothered then you could always leave it to repair itself but this will probably take longer.
Enjoy the feeling of being debt free and good luck for the future.
