Hi I entered into a trust deed in April 2013 and it was registered as protected on 25/06/13. I was discharged on 30/9/2016 but my creditors have not yet been paid. I have been using noddle to check my credit file. All my accounts are still shown as in default. The creditors are recording a default every month however on the status page of the account the default date is shown as 2013. Should I be writing to these creditors asking them to remove the defaults or is it the default date that is important and change my account status to settled?

Yes, your creditors should amend your account status to settled or satisfied now that you are discharged from your Trust Deed. Once that happens then it is just the date of the formal default that is important, which seems to be correct. After 6 years this should disappear of your file for each of the debts.

Thanks for replying. I'll contact them. What date should the default be recorded? Is it the date I entered into the trust deed (April) or the date it became protected (June).

The date you signed the paperwork (in your case April)
