Hi

Looking for advice. Currently 2 yrs since was made bankrupt. My husband and myself have been paying a monthly amount. Recently my husband walked out on me and our 3 children. I work a lot of hours and can see no way of continuing working the same hours due to my pattern of work. What would happen regarding my monthly payments if I decreased my working hours. I would then be claiming working families tax credit.

Many thanks

Hi jayne9989

Best option would to explain situation to your trustee and send him a revised income and expenditure. I'm sure he will look at reducing any payments in the circumstances.

Also send a copy of any Tax Credit assessments to back up the information provided. Agree MM that Trustee will look at reducing the payments (IPA) if appropriate. If problematic you can apply to the Sheriff to reduce the payment if no agreement is reached.
