Hi folks

Considering entering a TD with Carrington Dean and was wondering if anyone has any positive or negative experiences working with them?

Seem really knowledgeable and professional thus far.

Thanks

Stefan

Hi paparazzi and welcome back.

From the perspective of the site advice team we choose not to comment on individual trust deed companies other than the three that we choose to feature on the site.

Other visitors to the site may be able to share their thoughts and the "search" function in this forum may reveal things that have been written in the past by other visitors.

Are you satisfied that the issues that were raised when you wrote here earlier this year will not stand in the way of a trust deed being the right/best option for you?

Hi sam21

I saw your other post and you've answered your own question.

My friend made the mistake of going with them, signed at the 1st meeting and it's been bad ever since. The way things were described at the meeting have no resemblance to the way things are being dealt with now.

Guys can you elaborate, what specifically has been bad ever since?

Thanks folks this is such a minefield.

Just from the point of view of balance I want to say that the firm mentioned are a known and properly regulated insolvency company.

TDA is correct.

I think it is unfair to comment specifically on one firm as there are usually 2 sides to the story.

The forum should be used for specific answers to specific questions.

I have been with them for almost 2 years now, but under a DMP, and I have had no problems with them. I receive regular statements from them, and they phone me every few months to see how things are going.

Possibly the situation is different for people who have dealt with them for a TD!

I entered into a TD with Carrington Dean in October 2008 and have encountered no problems whatsoever. From the first phone call everything has been handled in a professional and friendly manner, and they have always been there to answer any questions or queries throughout the whole process. They were fair when working out my contributions and at no stage did I feel pressured into doing anything I didn't want to do.

As far as I'm concerned if you are upfront and honest with them you have nothing to fear.

Welcome to the forum Softytop.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

In general we (on behalf of the website support team) recommend the services provided by the companies represented here by Mark, Kevin and Julie. We'd heard good things about them within the industry, have visited them and talked with them in great detail about how they handle trust deeds and work with people, and they've all had great feedback from previous visitors to the site that have gone on to use their services.

At the same time we fully acknowledge that there are many other good trust deed companies out there who work very hard and professionally to assist their clients resolve their financial concerns.

As we all know as well there are sadly some companies that quite often attract criticism here from members of this forum.

Like any other major decision or purchase, when choosing a company to handle a trust deed it's wise to take as long as it takes to find a company you are certain is right for you.
