As previously stated I am 26 months into a 48 month trust deed so still some time to go. In the past few months my car has started giving me a lot of problems and I have had 3 very expensive bills in a short period of time. I am now thinking it may not last till the end of my trust deed but as I work shifts my car is essential to get me to and from work as there is no public transport available to me at the times I work. Does anybody know if there is any company where I would be able to do a long term hire or lease without having to get credit which clearly I woud not be able to get anyway.

That might be a tough one Mrs Mac.

Hire purchase or a lease will still involve credit checks. I think there might be some firms that are happy to offer cars on this basis to persons that are in a trust deed, but there will almost certainly be a price premium involved.

Do you have friends or family that might be able to assist you with obtaining a vehicle?

I do not really have anyone to help me here. I wonder if anybody knows any of the companies that will lease to people currently in a trust deed and what they charge. Thanks again for your speedy response.

sorry mrs Mac, but not sure of any company who would lend in the current climate, when your credit file is not good. Hopefully some of the other folk in Trust Deeds may be able to help. Would a credit union be a possibilty?

Lings cars have good rates for lwasing but will not lease to anyone with poor credit, although....

You can be a named driver and registered keeper for a car leased to someone else.

Going by recent enquiries with other companies, being in a bankruptcy/PTD or just generally having credit 'blemishes' means a higher cost and / or a restricted selection ie used cars vs new.

Once cars are starting to need several repairs per year at a few hundred quid a time , I'm sure a 2/3 yr old leased car is ok?
