Yes, I was open about it. The salesman said it wouldn't be the first time something like this had gone through. Looking forward to driving to work and not holding my breath to see if the car will make it all the way.
Glad that's over with....
Excellent news upstream, you can breathe easy now -:)

Building up savings.
Just had an email from the high street bank to say after further checks they are withdrawing their offer (even though I had already declined it). I guess Black Horse can't do the same since I drove the car to work today.......
Glad that's over with....
Hi upstream
Ha! I've now got visions of someone chasing the car along the road after you!

Don't even joke about it. Just had a missed call from the car dealer. Was sweating till I called them back and they told me they were just calling to see if everything was ok with the car!
Glad that's over with....
probably wondering if the free snow shovel has arrived!!

Hi Upstream,
I had that same call a number of years ago when I purchased a new car from a main dealer. A couple of days after having the car I noticed the number was the garage and panicked thinking something was wrong.
It was all part of their customer service follow up. 1 year after having the car I had the same phone call but this time it was to try and talk me into trading the car in to upgrade.

Just to add to the success stories. I was accepted for car finance with Arnold Clark, 9 months after my TD finished.
The APR was maybe slightly higher than if I had a clean record but I thought 11% (on an ยฃ8,000 HP deal with a ยฃ600 deposit) wasn't too bad all things considered.
I had yet another missed call from the dealership yesterday and, yet again, presumed there was an issue with the finance. Shows how nervous I am about using credit again. Turns out there had been a mix up at Arnold Clark and they had put my registration on an identical, but wrong, car with a different chassis number to the paperwork, and I had been driving that about for nearly 2 weeks. I had to take that car back and exchange it for my actual car. From being in credit rating hell to having 2 brand new cars in 2 weeks! [8D]
Glad that's over with....
They're bith exactly the same. But, I handed the first one bak manky with no petrol and drive away with a shiny one full of petrol!
Glad that's over with....
Wow that's nuts upstream. Lucky you. We had a car a few years back and the dealer put the wrong registration plates on it. Not paying much attention, we never noticed for two years until we were getting new tyres. The guy in the garage put the reg onto his computer and it thought we had a BMW. It was a nice wee fiesta that we had but it was no BMW lol
