Please dont anyone shoot me down here. The money you are no longer paying into the trust deed each month - cant that be saved towards a car? That way you are not going back down that road to debt.

Hi shogun82.

I do hope that another member can provide a suggestion for you. We've certainly heard from people that have managed to get car finance in the past so there must be some hope here.

Hi Haggis.

You make a fair point with regard to the problems that credit can cause.

I think there may be a differences with really major purchases like cars which are essential for so many people. If you need one right now, and saving will take months, the affordable use of credit may be necessary for some.

Go and see someone at Business Gateway.

(link removed - see www. business. scotland. gov. uk)

A close friend of mines has started up a domestic cleaning business and they helped her gain a grant to fund a vehicle. This was only 18 months ago and she now has 8 full time staff and 2 more vehicles paid for by her profits.

In the meantime I really would hold off from getting yourself into debt - depending on what type of business perhaps public transport is an option until you get yourself up and running.

The best of luck [:)]

You could try moneybarn. Just search for them on the web. I have several friends with colourful credit historys that have used them to finance vehicle purchases.

Hi Haggis.

Thanks for posting that useful information.

As a general rule we ask members not to post links in the forum (for a few different reasons). Don't worry about it at all though... I just wanted to point it out for the future.
