I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this - I have been discharged since 2015 and been building up my credit rating by getting a visa card and was successful. So thought I was on my way to rebuilding my credit rating. PROBLEM!! My car is about to die and I need this for getting to work and my job role has just changed and I need a car for getting around as its a sales-type role. Has anyone ever got finance for a car/loan during this period that they can recommend or offer any assistance or am I just going to have to wait until 3 years after I have been discharged? Any help would be greatly appreciated. [:)]
I used Arnold Clark, Marsh Finance was the company I got the loan from via Arnolds
Was a while ago since my TD but if I remember correctly I got car finance for a new car about a year or so after my TD. It was Arnold Clark too - think they send off to a few different finance people. The one that accepted me though was a much higher APR than others.
Hi
I was discharged last August and I got finance through Mazda dealership. They used Black Horse Finance. They tried Santander first as that is their default but that got turned down.
Good luck!

I managed to get car finance through Peter Vardy who use Barclays partner finance, this was 8 weeks after I finished my trust deed.
That's very encouraging, Thanks for all your replies. It looks like a few folk have tried Arnold Clark and been successful. Did you guys disclose that you previously had a trust deed?
I didnt mention it Jewels174.
Thanks AnnieP
Thank you to everyone who replied to my question. I have just been accepted for car finance through Arnold Clark and albeit have a higher APR, it allows me to get a newer car and this will be good for my credit rating too. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.
