My Hubby and I made our last payments to our trust deeds back in August and have been in contact with our TD assistant and are now just waiting on the discharge papers. We have both obtained vanquis credits cards in an attempt to start rebuilding our credit rating and my husband would like a seperate bank acoount or savings account with the use of a atm card and to use online, his thought is that we have one account and leave money to cover all direct debits and another for surplus income to cover anything else, shopping etc. Does anyone have any personal experience as to who to apply with, I don't want to pay monthly fees or set up fees. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello gemgem.

Who is it that you bank with currently?

I'm sure other members will have suggestions for you based on their own experiences.

Hi gemgem

Nationwide seem to be fine. I tend to guide people towards them and had had no problems.

I have a Cooperative basic account. TBH, there are not many cons. Pros include Visa Debit card, online banking, excellent customer service and empty branches. They are also heavily into fair trade and tree hugging if you're a bit of an environmentalist.
