How long after discharge from a trust deed would a bank consider a person for a not-basic bank account? I'm very happy with my Co-operative bank account, but just wondered when I might be able to 'upgrade' it?

I don't want overdrafts etc, I should point out, it's just that some full service accounts offer better benefits.

There's no single answer to this question I'm afraid tanyadm.

Each bank will take their own view and presumably your credit status at the time will play a role as well.

As such you'll only find out the answer (as it applies to you) by applying for an account and waiting to see what the response is.

Hopefully some members will be able to share their own personal experiences of this with you.

Hi, I am with coop and spoke to them when my trust deed stopped, there answer was that it would probably be around a year before we could even consider an up grade on our account.
Hope that helps ๐Ÿ™‚

That's useful info to know, Bravator - thanks. Maybe you could drop in again to update us at that point?
