Hi,

I finished my bankruptcy about 2 years ago. Stupidly I din myself in a bad situation again. My debts are not as bad as before (9000)..still a lot mind you! My question is would I be able to apply for a trust deed even although I have been bankrupt before?

Hi stevie0398.

You can try to set up a trust deed - having been bankrupt in the past isn't a barrier to that.

Hi stevie0398,

Don't worry having been bankrupt before doesn't stop you from entering into a Trust Deed. You could also consider a Debt Arrangement Scheme.

It's actually a lot more common than you think so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it too much. The positive is you have solutions to help you.

Do you have any assets such as a car or a house? Also, how much do you think you could pay per month to a plan?

The best thing to do is speak with a qualified expert about your situation, go over all of your options along with the pros and cons and then decide which option best suits your circumstances.

You aren't allowed to apply for bankruptcy again within 5 years of a previous bankruptcy award, but there is no problem with signing a Trust Deed if you wish, or entering a Debt Arrangement Scheme.

Do you have an idea of how much you can afford to pay towards your debts?
