Any info on owning a Caravan???..before we start a TD....its worth bout 1200....bought it last year for 1800...do we have to declare this before taking out a TD....and will we lose it?...Thanks again everyone...
It would likely be treated in the same way as a car. You can declare it prior to signing up to a TD and get in writing how it will be dealt with. Given its relatively low value I dont imagine your trustee would be interested in it.

Hi Scruffy,
As far as we are concerned we would adopt the route described by Plasticdaft in the above reply albeit we would use the under £1,000 asset rather than the under £3,000 (Motor Vhehicle) . It would be valued and if over £1,000 we may extend the Trust Deed. If you are valuing at £1.2K the likeliehood is that at an Auction it would sell for less and with the costs involved in the sale and the work entailed there would be no benefit to the estate. Thus it is likely that it would be abandoned. But as Plasticdaft points out declare it before hand and get in writing how it will be dealt with.
