Hi Folks
This is the first time I've posted on a forum and I'm sorry if I've created another topic when I didn't need to.
At the beginning of last year I started a trust deed and now deal with Knightsbridge.
At the time of drawing up budgets and looking at my income I had a part time request in for work and had expected it to go through (flexible work application), I was returning to work after my second child, however this did not happen and I am still classed as full time.
I'm currently airline cabin crew and my wages are made up of basic, flight pay and bar commission so can vary (sometimes significantly)from one month to another. Things like absence from work whether dependency days, parental leave (both unpaid), sickness (only receive basic), holidays (basic plus ยฃ15 per day) and how quiet or busy your roster is all have an impact on my earnings.
My income was calculated at 75% of what I had earned previously as due to going part time this was likely to reflect my new wages - obviously my employer refused to accommodate my request for part time so I'm stuck full time.
When I average out my earnings over the last year I am perhaps ยฃ170 per month higher than the amount that was calculated in the first place.
I'm seriously panicking as I feel like I'm struggling to afford day to day life even with trying to budget and cut back where possible.
I don't go out and my kids rarely go out or take part in activities, the only clothes expenditure I have is for my children (ages 3 and 2 - they don't stop growing).
My husband and I share cars (even though he has the finance on them - he's not in my trust deed)but things haven't gone too well with them either and have cost us a lot of money over the year.
Sorry for prattling on, I just want this to end. I obviously need to inform my trustee but I'm just so worried.
We were hoping to relocate back to Newcastle which would throw things up in the air again in terms of wages/outgoings etc.
Any words of encouragement or advice very welcome as feeling majorly stressed again and a total idiot ๐
Welcome to the forum rennaz23.
I'm sorry to hear that you find yourself worried and stressed about this situation.
Often when we read that people are feeling like that it's, to some extent at least, as a result of a fear of the unknown.
My advice would be to bite the bullet and contact your trustee. At the very least you'll then know where you stand and will be able to plan accordingly.
The situation may well not turn out to be as bad as you fear. For example sometimes a trustee will "take a view" on extra income, such as commission for example, in order to give you an incentive to work hard and earn more.
Hi Trust Deed Assistant,
Thanks so much for your reply and you're absolutely right in that it's the what if that's of huge worry.
I'm going to call my trustee this morning - hopefully they'll be in a good mood lol
Let us know how you get on rennaz23.
If you're struggling with your budget it might also be worth asking for a copy of the "income and expenditure" that they're using to calculate your monthly payment.
No harm in checking it for accuracy and/or whether any of your more fixed costs (like utility bills for example) have increased since the trust deed began.
Hi Rennaz23
Like you I very rarely post on this forum but love reading it. When I read your post I had to reply back to you.
I do exactly the same job as you and I was in exactly the same situation as you 4 years ago.
By the sounds of it we work for the same company but I may be wrong.
I entered into a trust deed 4 years ago and lot happened financially through that tie. I kept my trustee informed every six months as told her exactly as it was with me financially. EG. Other bills kept creeping up (unexpected) and I had no choice but I had to use all the extra money I had to cover them. Every months earnings were up and down as you know and I couldnt keep up with regular payments to my trust deed.
I eventually had to reduce my payments but my trustee was great and told me anything I owed at the end my trust deed would just get extended. It eventualy got extended by 6 months. I was discharged last september and it's great.
I had the exact same worries as yourself but you do get through it. ow that all that debt has gone forever I,m 33% now.
If you want to PM me feel free to talk.
dont panic it will be fine..x
Welcome to the forum starbucks88.
It's really kind of you to share your experience and support with rennaz23.
It's wonderful when the forum works like this. There's a huge number of people reading it every day (most never post here) and I think between them/us there's probably not many questions that cannot be answered by pooling that combined knowledge and experience.
Hi starbucks88 and Trust Deed Assistant
Thank you both so much for your support and for sharing your knowledge and experience with me.
Starbucks88 I probably do work for the same company as you - was it the lack of Part time by any chance? lol
I spoke to my Trustee today who (I'm so relieved to say) was just lovely and told me not to panic and that we would do another income/expenditure form and that my Trust Deed is due it's annual review anyway.
He's just said exactly as you both have in that bills change etc and as long as my income matches my outgoings nothing shall change.
If I need to pay more then we could talk about it and see what can reasonably be done.
Thanks so much again, it's a weight off my mind to know that there is a little movement and light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi rennaz23,
Your first post ended with an unhappy ;- ( and you advised that you were feeling majorly stressed. Having worked my way down the thread reading the words of advice from both the TDA and starbucks88 it's really good to see that you are now feeling much better about things and have ended that post with a happy smiley face :-).
As TDA said that's the best bit about the forum. Through a combination of expert opinions and also forum users who have been in a similar situation most problems and concerns can be resolved in a positive way.
