Hi all,

Looking for some general advice if possible, before going down the official route. I have between £13000 and £14000 of unsecured debt spread along a loan, 2 credit cards, an overdraft and a store card. This has accumulated scarily fast and I have reached the point where steps need to be taken to deal with this. I have struggled more recently as I was on long term sickness with my work and am now paying back arrears on my repayments in addition to my repayments.

Also, due to my health I have been struggling to perform to my best in my workplace and have subsequently handed my notice in. Probably completely the wrong financial decision, but I just had to think of my health. I am in the process of applying for jobs at the moment, but I suspect any other job would offer a reduced salary to what I am on at present. I have been applying for jobs non stop and have had some interviews but I am trying to work out what the best option would be to take the pressure off paying such a large chunk of my salary to unsecured debts, and what will happen if my earnings fall when I gain new employment? I have looked briefly into a trust deed and was wondering if anyone could shed any light on things since I voluntarily left my job.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all [:)]

It's difficult to comment on options without a full review. A lot depends if you own your own home and have assets ie car etc. That said, the trust deed does not appear to be a viable option as you have no income to support this.

If you provide more information, hopefully we can assist.

Thanks Mark, I am in the middle of trying to sell my property but by the looks of things, there will be no equity. I don't have any savings, or a car with equity in it. Would it be the case that this may be worth considering once I am employed and can provide an income to support it?

Thanks

Hi pinlessg.

That might be right, but it doesn't mean that you don't have options now.

For example, have you considered sequestration?

Hi TDA,

Sorry for the late response, no I hadn't. I will have a look into this and see how this would work.

Thanks
