Well, that's our Trust Deeds published in the Edinburgh Gazette today, so now we have an agonising five week wait ahead. Anyone else out there just started on this journey? How are you feeling? I just couldn't sit still today till I saw it on black and white. Think this even more than all the document signing last week made things seem more real if you understand what I mean. Fingers crossed for protection in five weeks!

Hi sandyann64.
Hopefully some of our members will share their experience and some support with you soon.
My fingers are crossed that the five weeks pass quickly for you and that you get the outcome you are hoping for. It's very rare that we hear from anyone for who this isn't the case.
Hi and welcome Sandyann64,
I've had my trust deed for a year now. I remember all too clearly seeing my details in the Edinburgh Gazette. My heart was pounding, it was scary to say the least. But from thereon in, things got better from me. It was the best thing I have ever done.I have honestly never looked back. It will be the same for you. Congratulations in making that positive move. You won't regret it.
Good luck
Carol
Hi sandyann64,
I'm just a few weeks ahead of you, but each wee step feels like a major achievement. Getting the news of protection is great, but so is the satisfaction of paying my monthly contribution. I've made a chart with 36 boxes so I have a visual sense of getting there! Might be silly but makes me feel better and more in control than I have for a very long time. This forum is a great support too. Good luck and keep in touch. ๐

Hi Sandyann64
I am only 1 week ahead of you, seeing the notice in the Gazette was 1 step further and I'm hoping the next 4 weeks go fast!!
I'm trying not to think about it too much and hope I don't get too much phone calls, letters etc during this time. So far it is only Lloyds Tsb who have contacted me (Current account, Credit card & Loan with them)
I am strangely happy about having a budget to stick to as I've never done it before and it means once Trust deed is finished I should be able to save, again something I've never done before!!
Best of luck to you [:)] I'm sure it will all go to plan
final payment 1st May 2015
Thanks for all your kind words. Only had one call so far-TSB- and when I said I had a trust deed the woman couldn't have been nicer. Mind you I don't expect that from everyone! So comforting to hear we're not alone in this. Tried for two years on a plan through the CAB ( who were great) but we were getting nowhere as the interest was just building up. Wish we had made the decision sooner at times but that's life. Hoping for a very quick five weeks.
Carol-know what you mean about your heart pounding, I was sure my work colleagues could hear it as it was so loud ๐

We're two weeks into the 5 week wait and time has flown by already. It was quite scary seeing our details put on the Edinburgh Gazette website like that I must admit ! Too early to give advice except to say keep coming here.... I must read every post on here and the amount of things I've learnt in the last 2-3 mths has been invaluable.
I remember getting my TD - very nerve wracking that 5 weeks, probably the hardest part of the TD overall!
Good luck and I am sure this will get protected, I have only heard on rare occasions when it does not.
Try not to worry too much, once started the weight off your shoulders is huge, even if the budget you have to live on small! You soon get used to it and stands you in good stead for staying debt free once TD over.
Good luck.
Blacklily- we've been on a budget for the past couple of years through the plan set up by the CAB for us so are used to living to a strict budget thank goodness. I know it's going to be a tough three years but if it helps us get back on an even keel it will all be worth it. As you said it will teach us some valuable lessons to keep out of debt in the future.

The trust deed is very much a learning experience and is a massive life lesson and you will be a better person for completing it!!
As for the 5 weeks waiting, its a hellish long time,we tried to forget all about it but you cant help but worry. What you must remember is that a good insolvency practitioner knows what acceptance criteria differing lenders have so rejections are few and far between. Fingers crossed for anyone waiting to get td protected!!

Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.
Hang on in there , you have decided to grasp the problem and sort things out so good for you. A reptuble firm would have EXPERTS working for you to provide the best possible case for the deed to become protected . So , not long from now that confirmation of protected status will come through , when it does mark it on your callander as that is the first day of you heading towards your discharge , I hope fellow posters will join together in wishing you all the best ,remember the forum is always here for further help and advice . Hopefully once my deed is sorted I can share what has happened within the forum to help others and show there are always options . Regards Pinalta .
Thank you Pinalta for that lovely post. Much appreciated.
