I'm really struggling to live let alone pay my mounting debts, I have 2 kids & my ex partner is currently unemployed (also in a lot of debt)...the thing is we jointly own 2 properties (we used to rent one out but my ex now lives there) there is barely any equity on either property...i can't afford to sell up & monthly rent would prob cost more than the mortgage...just don't know if I'd be eligible for a trust deed??

Hi withoutapaddle

Its difficult to comment to any degree of accuracy without a full inc/exp, details of debts, house values etc.

Welcome to the forum Without a paddle.

Could you provide us with a little more information? Some extra detail might help us to provide an indication of the options available to you though, as Mark says, a conclusive judgment on the subject could only follow from a detailed factfind with a suitably qualified debt or trust deed adviser. If a trust deed isn't right for you there will be other options available for you to consider.

How much debt do you have?

How much do you think you could pay towards the debts after you subtract all of your expenditure (excluding your unsecured debt repayments) from your income? Putting it in another way, how much do you think you could afford to pay into a trust deed or another debt solution if you went ahead with one?
