My final 6 month review came in the post today, and my 36th and final payment is due at the start of September.

It feels so close now 🙂

Been reading a lot of old forum posts about trust deeds getting extended, or loads of hassle getting discharged.

Is this a common occurance?

I am with, I think, a very reputable firm, have had no real variance in income or expenditure, and heard nothing for 6 months or so about any PPI claims (I'm assuming they are all resolved)

Suffering from 'squeaky bum time', to steal a phrase from Alex Ferguson!!

Plain sailing from here?

Hi amorphous

In my experience 98-99% of our cases complete on the 3rd anniversary with no extensions or other matters to prolong it.

It seems a few firms wait until the 3rd anniversary before pursuing PPI which is a pain, although this should not stop your discharge.

Just checked your first post in November 2010. Can't believe it's nearly 3 years later!

Thanks Mark.

I can't believe its 3 years either!

Can't thank you guys on here enough for the considerable amount of time and effort you all put in to answering my questions and giving me peace of mind when I've been needlessly stressed.

You have made a very difficult time in my life a lot easier to cope with.

Hi amorphous

Always glad to help. I've always said to people that it takes 10 seconds to clarify something rather than someone's weekend being spoiled by a letter or something.

Plus the forum becomes a bit addictive, as I'm not on Facebook!

I have 11 out of 42 payments left to go. Although that's a reasonable time to go, it's nothing compared to the eternity it would have taken before the TD and the end is almost in sight. I'm looking forward to saying I have one more payment to make in 10 months time.

One thing I have noticed and may have the nerve to ask once it's all over is why any contentious letters that have been posted to me always came on a Saturday! Coincidence? Hmmmm......

Glad that's over with....

Well I thought I was the same as you amorphous and my trust deed would have been finish end of June as that was my 36 payment, but I was wrong I am now still paying this into next year because I have £500 added for my house and also money for my car so I am still plodding along, cant wait to finish paying this a very long lesson learn roll on 2014 that all I say, good luck with yours and hope you get discharge in sept

Hi sharon21

Sorry to hear about the extension. The £500 should have been discussed at the start and can be a pain, but hopefully it wont go on too much longer.

Hi Sharon21,

That's unfortunate about your Trust Deed and the extension to pay over the asset value. I know what it can feel like thinking you're coming to the end of something and then realise there are a further few payments than you first thought.

Before you know it you will be nearing the end and can focus on the discharge.
