Hi,

I got a letter from my trustee saying that next month will be my last payment and to cancel my standing order afterwards. I have to say this was some relief as at times it has been very difficult to keep up the payments with some very tight months. In fact I can't remember being this happy for a while! It feels fantastic to know that I can start to get my life back on track again after making some mistakes.

I've visited the forum here a few times over the years when looking for an answer to questions and to see how other people like me were finding their experiences and it has been very helpful so thanks to everyone here. Also, I'd like to say that if you're looking for a good firm to deal with then RSM Tenon have always been fair with me and I've not had any problems with them at all. I have had a few issues this year primarily since my partner has been in hospital for what is now going on to 7 months and they have been very understanding, allowing me to keep part of my bonus to help with bills etc. and were very approachable.

I do have one question however, and I'm sure it has been asked many, many times. When I receive my discharge from my trustee, is that the end of any payments to the trust deed? I know the trustee can stay involved for a while after my discharge for PPI from reading the posts on here but if I get paid a bonus in June or July, assuming they are still involved, would they be looking for some of that too? Just want to be clear so I don't end up spending money I should be paying to them

Thanks for reading [:)]

Hi hardlesson - I'm glad to hear that your experience with RSM Tenon has been a good one. Well done on getting to the end (almost).

Once you are discharged then your obligations are completely finished - so you can start planning as to what you are going to spend your bonuses on!

good on you getting to the end. My husband paid his last payment in August, I am due to pay my last payment this month. With very hard lessons learnt. Just a couple of questions, the trust deed company seem to be very laid back about getting our house valued for the possible equity, should we be chasing them up ??. Also as my husband has finished his payments hoe do I start getting his credit file sorted,

Hi lorrainek.

Has your husband been discharged yet?

Are you expecting there to be any equity in your home?

Did they not do a valuation on your property at the start of the trust deed lorrainek?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying, thanks for the advice and for the kind words Kevin, you too lorrainek.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease Kevin, I thought that may be the case but with the end coming up I had a few wee doubts that had started to worry me.

Lorrainek, my house was valued at the start of the trust deed, before it was signed if I recall correctly. I've not heard anything else about it as there's not enough equity in it to be of any use. There was a £500 payment to cover the interest in it I think. Hope you get it all sorted soon!

Thanks again,
🙂
